5th day in 'you-know-where'

Is the fifth day in Singapore and i must say... is quite tiring traveling from places to places... but i do enjoy hanging out with my frens and my gf though. Have any one been to Zoo Negara (Malaysia) before? you should be seeing hungry zebra and skeleton tiger due to lack of fund to support the animal, which basically no one visit the zoo in Malaysia nowadays. on top of that, its stench will keep visitor away, but today's visit will change others' thinking.

Today, we are visiting Singapore's Zoo, the Zoo adopted 'Open Concept' which animals are kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures, separated from the visitors by dry or wet moats. The moats are concealed with vegetation or dropped below the line of vision.

Make sure you take the right bus, 138!

This is how u should sit in the bus station.

After 40 minutes, we finally arrived at the Singapore Zoo, the entrance cost SGD 20 per adult. Not quite cheap, hope it does live up to the expectation.

The signs are everywhere so that you won't get lost, besides that, they will provide you a map which is quite convenient when locating toilet, haha since the zoo looks like jungle to me...

See what i mean? i am quite impress with their 'open concept', which allows visitor to have different experience, is like jungle trekking.

Boar...

'Open concept' is not a bad idea after all....

but you just have to hide behind some tree when snapping photo... just in case....

'Kancil'... just right below the bridge....

Ant eater, looks like eel huh?

White tiger, rare stuff.....

I'm not afraid of them.. they look puny to me... hahahaha

never see so much dory in her life besides those that serve in a plate...

Next stop, lazy guy...

See? what a life...

Some common stuff....
Walk and walk... the Zoo is kinda huge...

This is how they sharpen their teeth...

Even toilet is open concept style...

Elephant show

They taught the elephants how to work and 'act' which is quite impressive since they are wild animals...

Polar bear having snack (watermelon), the bear can grow up to 3 feet... i guess... anyway, is quite huge when the bear jump down to the pool.. is like one and a half Yao Ming...

'hey.. kid come over here... ur head look tasty'

There are 4 stops for their so called 'tram', if you never purchase the full day pass, you will have to pay SGD2 for each route, and i will strongly advise you to buy the whole day pass since you will be needing a lot of 'tram traveling' if you lost in the 'jungle', cause they will be bringing you back to the common stop where you can reset your journey and start a different one.

kinda shock when i saw some aborigines as they are quite macho, not that i'm interested in them but... why are they here?!?!

Is 1.30pm and we are joining the crowd for the show called 'Rainforest Fight Back' at Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre.

They storyline like this, some contractor looking for land to develop and the animals protect the forest from being 'consumed' by the real world.

Ohh... now u see? those aborigines are just some part time performer.... bet they make more than i do..

There are few roots linking from the tree outside where animals start crawling in....

Rare peacock... everything white is rare....

This is a sea lion show... but this smart ass know where to get food and appeared in the center of the show... shu chuen.. go away....

Sea lion playing dead... they are quite some actor...

Gentle reminder, if you are thirsty and hot, please sit at the front row because drinks will be provided from time to time by their beloved sea lion.

leaping from the water... impressive huh? animal have more ability that human but we are given a brain that is the King of all....

hand shaking session.

huge sea lion....

Ah Meng, Singapore Zoo’s most famous and well-loved orang utan, passed away on 8 February 2008 due to old age. She was 48 years old.

Ah Meng is the first and only non-human recipient of the ‘Special Tourism Ambassador’ award conferred by the then Singapore Tourism Promotion Board in 1992. As an icon for the Zoo, Ah Meng has met numerous foreign dignitaries and celebrities such as Prince Philip, Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor.

A devoted mother, Ah Meng leaves behind two sons, two daughters and six grandchildren.

To commemorate Ah Meng’s efforts towards generating a greater awareness on the plight of orang utans in the wild, the Singapore Zoo will intensify its conservation work for orang utans.

Of course i copy the whole thing from the website, do you really think i will write the whole thing out?

This is not Ah Meng... just another black and white collection of mine...

Ahhh.. nothing better than a quick snack before visiting other places... SGD 6... too long d... can't remember...

This is the map provided, quite detail though... i must say.. the zoo is really huge...

UNICORN SPOTTED! haha just some deer i think...

Huge Crocs... they are really huge... can't even capture in a shot...

This poor guy have to hold the position after taking photo... the butterfly love him...

This animal remind me of my colleague....
